Artist Management

Quincy Jones Productions

At QJP, I worked with an array of the artists in the Music Management sector. This included working on artists’ social media, formulating new branding techniques, putting together schedules for tours, and overall working to give them a platform to increase their recognition within the industry.

The following are a few of the artists that I worked with the most:

MARO

Working with MARO was an incredible experience as I was able to watch her quickly develop and grow as an artist. I assisted by giving input during meetings regarding MARO joining QJP. She caught the eye of many musicians and is now a featured vocalist and instrumentalist in Jacob Collier’s debut touring band. In addition, I continued to monitor her and Jacob’s progress and performance throughout their tour together.

McClenney

After earning a grammy for his work on Khalid’s “Location”, contributing to H.E.R.’s grammy-winning album, and producing for a number of successful artists, McClenney wanted to branch out as a solo musician. Through listening to multiple unreleased tracks, doing extensive artist research, and getting to know his personality, I was able to produce a branding strategy moving forward. I communicated with McClenney to develop this plan in a way which he was able to accurately relay his character, while also adhering to important marketing tactics that would boost his career. This allowed him to truly get behind the idea as well.

Justin Kauflin

Justin Kauflin, a blind jazz pianist, is most known for his close relationship with Clark Terry that was highlighted in the documentary “Keep On Keepin’ On”. My role in particular with Justin was to create a dialogue between us that allowed him to trust me and be open to working on his image. After establishing this relationship, I worked on further promoting the documentary via social media strategy. In addition, I formulated and shared with Justin an overall social media and podcast plan that would help propel him into the next chapter of his career.

Quincy Jones Documentary

After my summer internship with QJP, I worked with members of their team to orchestrate a screening of the Quincy documentary on Loyola Marymount University’s campus, serving as a method of advertising and promotion for the film. The event was co-sponsored by the LMU Department of African American Studies as we brought together various groups of students for the screening. This included the Events Management students as well as the faculty members and students that are part of Black Student Services at LMU. We came together for an interactive night of learning and appreciating one of the best musicians and leaders in the industry.
